Job summary

AAM is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to independently program, set up, and operate a cell of 1-4 CNC machines, reading blueprints and setup sheets to produce high-quality parts.

You will verify first-piece inspections, adjust programs and offsets, and perform tool changes and tool trials while adhering to safety and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED.
• 5 years documented experience in tool making.
• Proficient with CNC setup, and operation.
• Proficient with Conversational CNC Programming with MasterCAM.
• Proficient with Mazatrol, HAAS and Makino/Fanuc controllers.
• Experience with Blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with tolerances = +/- .0005”
• Experience with Manual milling, Manual Lathes a bonus.
• Ability to work any shift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently program, setup, and operate a cell consisting of 1-4 CNC Machines
• Read and interpret Engineering Drawings/Blueprints and setup sheets
• Process from start to finish goods. Includes selection of tooling required, order of operations required, etc
• Perform a 1st piece inspection of all new setups
• Make necessary adjustments to programs and offsets
• Perform spot checks before removing work pieces
• Follow predetermined workflow and move workpieces to the appropriate following operation
• Occasionally troubleshoot cutting tool failures, and run cutting tool trials
• Effectively communicate any issues or concerns to management
• Work safely and efficiently to produce quality parts in a timely manner
