Job summary

A manufacturing company in Belvidere is looking for a Team Lead to oversee the tool room activities. Qualifications

• Experience using a variety of manual machines to manufacture tooling, preferably in the Fastener Industry.

Job description

Position Summary

It is the Team Lead's responsibility to oversee/direct the activities of the tool room. Assists in planning, scheduling, manufacturing and rework of dies and tooling in order to support the manufacturing process. This is a 1st Shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Tool Room Supervisor to direct activities of the 1st shift tool room employees.
• Train less experienced tool makers.
• Enters required data into the reporting system in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ability to operate all tool room equipment with no supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements.
• Ability to read all manufacturing and tooling prints and select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances.
• Utilizes all tool room gaging equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance when required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• 3-5 years previous experience as Tool Maker in a manufacturing setting.
• 3-5 years in a Lead or similar type of role in a tool room setting.
• Experience using a variety of manual machines to manufacture tooling, in the Fastener Industry is a plus.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
• Strong trouble shooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• HSD/GED or equivalent experience.
