Job summary

The Kelly Group is seeking a Tool Repair Technician at our Lafayette, Indiana location. The ideal candidate will diagnose, repair and maintain hand tools, power tools and related shop equipment.

You will disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble tools per manufacturer specifications and replace worn components to ensure safe operation. Daily duties include testing tools for performance and safety, documenting repairs, and communicating estimates and timelines to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining hand tools, power tools and related shop equipment.
• Ability to disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble tools according to manufacturer specifications.
• Replace worn or defective components such as switches, cords, gears and housings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in tools and equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble tools per manufacturer specs.
• Test tools for proper operation, performance and safety prior to return to customers.
• Maintain repair documentation and parts tracking.
• Communicate repair estimates, timelines, and status to customers.
