Job description

Tool Repair & Assembly Person - Littleton
Pay Rate: $19.19 hr
1st Shift Hours: 7am - 3:30pm (MON - FRI)

$1000 sign-on bonus after 90 days (based on performance/attendance)

Job Summary:
Responsible for assembling or repairing installation tools including but not limited to MD6, MD7, OH25, MY, MR, MD6R, Y35, Y39, Y644HS, Y750HSXT, Patriot Series tool, remote hydraulic heads, and subassemblies for hydraulic tools and testing hydraulic pumps working at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties.

Daily Activities Include:
  1. Performs assembly of mechanical or hydraulic tools by utilizing work order routing, product drawing, and QCIP to guide proper assembly of components.
  2. Fastens components together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners utilizing hand tools.
  3. Operates drill presses, lathes, grinders, arbor presses, and hydraulic presses to assist in assembly operation.
  4. Verifies conformance to specifications utilizing measuring devices to calibrate tools and verifying performance to Quality Control Inspection Plan (QCIP).
  5. Maintains all necessary records and reports including serialization of tools and components.
  6. Maintains clean and organized workstation at all times. Observes all quality requirements, work standards, and safe work practices.
  7. Fills tools with hydraulic fluid and bleeds air from system. Tests for function of hydraulic circuit by operating tool.
  8. Packages and prepares tools for shipment by following work order routings and drawing instructions.
  9. Follows all Lean work standards including but not limited to Standard Work, Production Analysis Charts, Red Bin, 5S, and Kanban replenishment.
  10. May be required to be trained in proper handling of hazardous waste in accordance with 40 CFR 265.16 due to the various waste generated within Burndy. If required, must take part in documented annual reviews of Hazardous Waste regulations.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Experience in assembling mechanical and hydraulic tools.
  3. Ability to maintain quality standards.
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  5. Reasonable understanding of hydraulic devices and functions including check balls and springs, sealing surfaces, pressure valves, flow characteristics, flow distribution, drag, effects of air on performance and conformance to specification, cavitation, high- and low-pressure circuits, seals, etc.
  6. Ability to read and translate hydraulic and electrical diagrams and schematics.
  7. Ability to work successfully within a team environment, willing to contribute to team problem-solving activities such as Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  8. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  9. Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds frequently, and assist-lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
  10. Ability to stand and walk for the shift (the work pace is fast).
  11. Good dexterity for handling small parts and tools.
  12. Pre-employment drug test and background check is required.
