Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Tool Room Custodian in Maryland to manage bench stock, T.O.s, tools, and CMDE. The role covers inventory control, calibration scheduling for TMDE, and building custodian duties including escort and Zamboni operation.

The position requires care in tool handling, safety awareness, and flexibility for shift work, including nights and weekends. Experience with SBSS and HBSS interfaces is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year experience with MIS/SBSS interface or similar computer systems.
• Knowledge of SBSS, repair cycle system, and basic aircraft/engine components required.
• Must have knowledge of handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, control, and inventory bench stock, tools, T.O.s and support equipment.
• Issue tools, T.O.s, TMDE and equipment from the tool room and maintain accountability.
• Use automated tool accountability system to prevent loss of equipment.
• Perform preventative and minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are clean, oiled, and serviceable and properly identified.
• Manage calibration schedules for TMDE and remove overdue items from service.
• Perform Equipment Custodian duties and related custody responsibilities.
• Escort duties as building custodian and operate Zamboni when required.
• Assist in snow removal and maintain good housekeeping and safety.
• May work day, swing, night, or weekend shifts and may travel.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Receives, stocks, controls, and inventories bench stock, tools, Technical Orders (T.O.’s) and support equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Issues tools, T. O’s, test equipment, test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and support equipment from the tool room and maintains strict accountability.
• Uses automated tool accountability system to ensure the possibility of lost equipment and tools is eliminated.
• Performs preventative and minor maintenance on tools and support equipment.
• Ensures tools and support equipment are clean, oiled, and serviceable.
• Marks and identifies tools and equipment for quick inventory.
• Controls calibration schedules for TMDE and ensures overdue calibration items are removed from service and sent for testing.
• Performs Equipment Custodian duties and manages the Custodian Authorization/Custody Receipt Listing (CA/CRL).
• Performs duties as building custodian to include Escort duties, Zamboni operator.
• Assists in snow removal.
• Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.
• May perform other duties related to the classification as assigned to include temporary duty and travel.
• Must be able to work, day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shifts as required.
• Receives CUT training and is qualified to perform maintenance tasks associated within classifications.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
• Knowledge of applicable Government documents, directives, and technical orders is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), repair cycle system and basic aircraft / engine components is required.
• Must have knowledge of procedures for handling and disposalof hazardous materials.
• Minimum of one-year recent experience working with MIS/SBSS interface or related computer experience is required.
• Familiarity with Fed Log system is preferred.
• May occasionally handle items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid State Driver’s License (Real ID) and must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $38.44
