Job summary

Sika Corporation, a leader in specialty materials, seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician in Grandview, MO. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing molds, inspecting mold operation, and entering all work orders and PMs on shift.

You will troubleshoot hydraulic, cooling, electrical, and thermal systems while maintaining inventory and safety compliance. The position involves overseeing large mechanical projects, training staff in advanced skills, and performing welding (MIG, Micro MIG,

Qualifications

• Understands safety lock out/tag out procedures.
• Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work with general methods.
• Independent worker with minimal supervision.
• Proven attendance and safety record.
• Moderate to heavy physical effort; frequent material handling.
• Willingness to attend trainings or seminars.
• Able to work safely at 20 ft.
• Drive and operate a forklift; operate a pendant crane.
• Must pass Maintenance Specialist Tool Room Placement test.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose molds to repair or replace parts and make adjustments.
• Inspect molds to ensure proper operation.
• Enter all work orders and PMs into the system on your shift.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and cooling circuits.
• Maintain inventory of replacement components.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and thermal issues.
• Oversee major workload for assigned mechanical projects.
• Train personnel in specialized skills.
• Perform welding (MIG, Micro MIG, TIG) as needed.
• Perform all duties of Maintenance A and B positions.
• Mold cleaning, mold setting, and minor mold maintenance.

Demonstrates a proven high level of knowledge and skill in the following:

• Diagnose Molds to repair or replace parts and make adjustments as needed.
• Inspects Molds to insure proper operation.
• Responsible for entering ALL work orders and PMs into the system on your shift.
• Troubleshoots hydraulic circuits and cooling circuits.
• Make sure inventory is maintained on replacement components.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and thermal issues.
• Oversees major amount of work required for each mechanical project assigned.
• Trains specialized skills for enhancing lesser skilled personnel.
• Performs welding (MIG, Micro MIG, TIG) as needed.
• Must be able to perform ALL duties of the Maintenance A, and B position.
• Miscellaneous maintenance duties as assigned. Mold Cleaning, Mold Setting, Minor Mold Maintenance
