Job summary

Intel in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking candidates for a Contract Employee role in Foundry Construction and Sourcing. You will read blueprints, perform precise calculations, and handle a variety of tools while ensuring safety and quality on major semiconductor projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree related to semiconductor manufacturing or 2+ years technical experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • 2+ years technical experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure structures meet specifications.
  • Perform accurate measurements and calculations to minimize rework and errors.
  • Operate and handle a variety of tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Identify materials and properties to select appropriate resources for durability and standards.
  • Propose quick solutions to on-site challenges to keep projects on track.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to meet requirements and deadlines.
  • Apply lean principles to improve safety and efficiency across commissioning operations.

Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Reading: Understanding architectural and engineering drawings is fundamental. Candidate must interpret these plans to ensure structures and systems are built according to specifications.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Accurate measurements and calculations are critical to avoid costly mistakes and reduce rework.
  • Tool Handling: Familiarity with a wide range of tools and machinery is necessary. Workers should know how to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Material Knowledge: Recognizing different materials and their properties helps in selecting the right resources for specific tasks, ensuring durability and compliance with standards.
  • Problem Solving: Construction sites and factories often present unexpected challenges. The ability to quickly devise solutions keeps projects on track.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Supplier Management: Managing suppliers and contractors and ensuring they meet project requirements and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
  • The candidate must have at least one of the following:
    • Associate's Degree related to semiconductor manufacturing (electronics, electronic engineering technology, engineering or other related technical field of study)
    • 2+ years technical experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process tool install, equipment maintenance or military technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or another related technical field.
