Job summary

Qualified Staffing is seeking a Tool Fabricator in Lapeer, MI for the 1st shift. Pay ranges from $26 to $30 per hour and resume plus interview are required. This automotive part facility role focuses on mold repair, maintenance, and tool fabrication duties.

Responsibilities include daily downtime reviews, tool calendars, tool room upkeep, and safety compliance. Candidates should have at least 2 years in toolmaking or tool room and hold a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in toolmaking or tool room.
• HSD/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance checks on all molds.
• Work with molding supervision and process techs to schedule routine or emergency repairs and maintenance.
• If repair required outside of client capabilities, send out for repair.
• Install new tool calendars; change calendars monthly.
• Daily review of machine downtime reports, tool problems.
• Document all work performed on tools on repair log.
• Follow all safety procedures, log out and hot drop offs.
• Stencil each tool with job number.
• Repair and maintain all checking fixtures.
• Build and maintain holding fixtures, cooling trays, cutting tools, clip/stud insertion fixtures.
• Build and repair glue fixtures, prototype tools.
• Keep tool room clean and organized.
• Order materials and tooling needed for maintenance, repair, build.
• Other duties as assigned.
