Job summary

ES MFG is seeking an experienced Tooling Technician for the 2nd shift to maintain and repair injection molds and tooling in a hands-on manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, precision machining, and safe operation of shop equipment on a 2nd shift.

You will use various machines, manage mold tooling, and coordinate with outside repair vendors when needed, all while keeping production running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of tool room or injection mold experience.
• Injection mold maintenance or repair is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on injection molds and tooling.
• Complete Level 2 and Level 3 mold maintenance according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot tooling and mold issues to keep production running; perform mold and tool repairs within tool room capabilities.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws.
• Work with and maintain Hot Runner Systems.
• Document mold maintenance and repairs in SAP.
• Assist with coordinating outside mold repairs when necessary.
• Load and unload molds from flatbed trucks.
• Safely operate an overhead crane.
• Maintain tool room spare parts and inventory.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding mold repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 5S work environment.
• Support continuous improvement, quality, and preventive maintenance initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with injection mold maintenance or repair preferred
• Ability to operate lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and saws
• Basic knowledge of Hot Runner Systems
• Ability to safely operate an overhead crane
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• SAP experience is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently
