Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Tool & Die Maker to use drawings, sketches, and concept models to determine project specifications. The role involves setting up and operating machine tools, finishing, adjusting parts, and testing tools to meet quality standards. Exceptional mechanical and mathematical skills, technical expertise, and a positive team-oriented attitude are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and Wire EDM machines to produce parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • Construct, alter, and repair a variety of tools, metal stamping dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to achieve tight tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Develop and design new tools and dies using computer-aided design software; Mastercam experience is a plus.
  • Select appropriate materials from a range of metals and alloys based on properties such as hardness, durability, and application.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of progressive dies and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Perform work in a team-centered, Safety First environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 5years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient use of both conventional and CNC machining equipment.
  • Physical ability and stamina to perform diversified maintenance work in a manufacturing plant: stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift, push or pull up to 50pounds.
  • Apprenticeship certification preferred.
  • Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Lock, Tag, Verify training.
Physical Demands
  • Stationary or moving, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, handling, gripping, and communicating.
  • Occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, operating with force, and repetitive motions.
  • Work in conditions of extreme or occasional cold, heat, humidity, wetness, noise, vibration, temperature change, and atmospheric variations.
Compensation

Base hourly rate: $41.09
