Job summary

Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team seeks a Tool & Die Specialist to build, repair, and maintain precision tooling for aerospace components. This is a Weekend Day Shift: Friday – Sunday 7:00am – 7:00pm.

You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, troubleshoot tooling, document work orders in SAP, and support tooling inventory and continuous improvement while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in tool and die, toolmaking, CNC or manual machining, or related skilled trade.
• Technical program in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, inspect, and maintain tooling, gauges, fixtures, and dies used in aerospace manufacturing.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture and repair tooling.
• Troubleshoot tooling performance issues and perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability.
• Complete tooling work orders and document activities in SAP, supporting tooling inventory and continuous improvement.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements and maintain a clean work area.

Job Summary

Join Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team as a Tool & Die Specialist. You will build, repair, and maintain the precision tooling that supports the production of critical aerospace components. This is a Weekend Day Shift position: Friday - Sunday 7:00am - 7:00pm.

What You Will Do

• Build, repair, inspect, and maintain precision tooling, gauges, fixtures, and dies used in aerospace manufacturing.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture and repair tooling.
• Troubleshoot tooling performance issues and perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
• Complete tooling work orders and maintain documentation using SAP while supporting tooling inventory and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in tool and die, toolmaking, CNC or manual machining, precision machining, manufacturing, or maintenance of tooling and fixtures; or completion of a technical program in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related skilled trade.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience with Machine Shop Math and (GD&T) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Experience with CAD/CAM, Wire EDM, precision grinding, or close‑tolerance gage work.
• Experience using SAP or other manufacturing systems and strong problem‑solving skills.
