Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Tool & Die Specialist for 2nd shift to support the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of injection molding, die casting, and stamping tools. You will bridge production and maintenance, with a focus on tooling reliability and process improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with molds, machining, and welding, and involves working with cross-functional teams to reduce defects and downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of hands-on technician experience with tool maintenance and/or repair with plastic injection molds.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and modification of molds for plastic injection and die casting of various sizes.
• Disassembly and assembly of molds safely and efficiently.
• Repair and/or fabricate cores, cavities, and various other components.
• Hand work repairs to part details, parting lines, lifters, slides, polished cavities, texture, venting, and spotting.
• Support production and maintenance with troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain mold spare parts lists.
• Identify and implement proactive systems to reduce defects and productivity issues.
• Assist design engineering with tooling changes and feasibility evaluations.
• Assist process engineering with scrap reduction, cycle time, and downtime reduction.
