Tool & Die Makers – 1st & 2nd Shift

Location: Peosta, IA | Premier Tool & Manufacturing

Our client, Premier Tool & Manufacturing is hiring Tool & Die Makers for both 1st and 2nd shifts at their Peosta, Iowa facility. In this role, you’ll focus on building new tooling, repairing existing tools, and troubleshooting tooling issues. Available Shifts:

  1. 1st Shift:
    • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • Enjoy your evenings and weekends!
  2. 2nd Shift:
    • Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
    • Three-day weekends every week!
    • $0.50/hour shift differential to reward your evening work.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Operate machine shop equipment such as lathes, surface grinders, mills, drill presses, and CNC machines.
  • Fabricate parts and components to tight specifications from engineering drawings.
  • Ensure strict tolerances are met in all machining processes.
  • Maintain personal tools and ensure current calibration.
  • Efficiently build or repair tooling to meet customer expectations and delivery timelines.
  • Assemble, test, and refine repaired or newly built tools.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret tooling blueprints accurately.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot tooling or design issues.
  • Willingness to mentor junior team members and collaborate with coworkers.
  • Ability to shift priorities between tasks to meet customer needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Experience & Education:
