Job summary

Grote Industries, Inc. in the Town of Avon is looking for an Injection Molding & Manufacturing Support professional. You will build, repair, and modify tooling and support production through troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build, modify, and repair fixtures, jigs, and workstations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and tooling issues on production equipment.
  • Perform tooling changeovers, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Injection Molding & Manufacturing Support
Build Solutions. Solve Problems. Keep Production Moving.

Location: Star Safety Technologies by Grote
Shift: 6am - 2:30pm
Employment Type: Full-Time

What You’ll Do
Primary Responsibilities
  • Build, modify, and repair:
    • Fixtures
    • Jigs
    • Workstations
    • Tooling
    • Assembly equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and tooling issues on production equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • CNC milling machines
  • Lathes
  • Surface grinders
  • Drill presses
  • Band saws
  • Press brakes
  • Use precision measurement equipment such as:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Dial indicators
    • Depth gauges
    • Thread gauges
  • Assist with installation and setup of new or revised manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Perform tooling changeovers, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Coordinate heat treating and outside vendor tooling services
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Maintain organized work areas using 5S principles
  • Document tooling activity and maintain inventory of tool room supplies
Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas will stand out:

  • Plastic molds
  • Metal stamping equipment
  • Prototype fabrication
  • TIG welding and spot welding
  • Pneumatic and mechanical assembly
  • Industrial manufacturing environments
  • Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely operate tool room equipment and machinery
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
  • CNC machining experience
  • Experience supporting automated assembly equipment
  • Leadership or mentoring experience in a manufacturing setting
