Job summary

Tube Specialties, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a part-time role on our Tool Room team in Tempe, AZ. The ideal candidate reads blueprints, machines precision tooling, and applies CAD/CAM insight to tooling and fixture work.

This hands-on position requires 3+ years of experience, CNC/Milltronics/Fadal exposure, and a strong focus on quality and safety. On-site work with 20–25 hours per week and opportunities to grow design skills with SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3+ years experience as a Tool Maker.
• Prior press work experience is required.
• CNC, CAM, Fadal and Milltronics experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks) preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and design tooling, dies, and assemblies.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) to shape parts to precise dimensions.
• Fit, assemble, and repair dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures using machine and hand tools.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.
• Run test cycles on completed tools and dies, inspect for defects, and make adjustments.
• Recommend design improvements to tooling and fixtures using CAD software such as SolidWorks.

About the Role:

We're hiring an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a part-time position on our Tool Room team, supporting aerospace manufacturing. This is a hands-on role for a skilled tradesperson who can read blueprints, machine precision parts, and bring design thinking to tooling and fixture work, including CAD software such as SolidWorks. If you take pride in tight tolerances and clean, well-made tools and dies, we want to hear from you.

This role suits someone looking for flexible, skilled-trade work at reduced hours, including semi-retired machinists or tradespeople balancing other commitments, without stepping down in the scope or quality of the work.

Schedule:

20-25 hours per week

What You'll Do

• Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and design tooling, dies, and assemblies

What We're Looking For

Physical Requirements
