Job summary

Air Vent is seeking an experienced machinist/tooling technician to build, repair, and maintain metal stamping tools and dies for production lines. You will read blueprints, set up CNC/NC machines, verify tolerances, and perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.

The role requires at least five years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities to drive quality and safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Builds, repairs, and maintains metal stamping tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.
• Plans, coordinates and records routine maintenance schedules for all dies and tools.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts and dies using calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, and grinders to shape parts to prescribed dimensions.
• Inspects and troubleshoots production equipment to identify causes of errors or defects and makes adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Fabricates and installs parts required in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Maintains preventative maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating machining equipment.
