Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a skilled tool and die technician in the United States to maintain and repair machine shop tools, reading blueprints, models and sketches to repair or modify tools, dies, jigs, gauges and molds.

You will work with manufacturing systems, steel fabrication and welding processes, and you must collaborate effectively in a team while adhering to safety policies. A high school diploma and craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and tool and die experience.
• Manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to maintain and repair machine shop tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.
• Able to work from blueprints, models and sketches to repair or modify tools, dies, jigs, gauges and molds.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, steel fabrication, and welding processes.
• The ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
• Able to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in order to maintain quality standards.
• Able to accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances of tools.
• Responsible to assist in general housekeeping of the department.
• Responsible to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
