Job Description:

As a Tool and Die Maker, you will play a crucial role in developing tooling requirements based on production needs and providing component design direction and support for our current and potential projects. You'll be tasked with designing, reviewing, testing, and maintaining manufacturing processes, as well as investigating and resolving manufacturing-related issues. Additionally, you'll construct and alter a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges while sharing your knowledge with and training apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and understand specifications and tolerances.
2. Set up and operate machine tools.
3. Study blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize end-products.
4. Work both independently and as part of a team, handling projects as necessary.
5. Construct and maintain dies and tooling, supporting other departments with Tool Room knowledge.
6. Setup and operate all conventional Tool Room equipment.
7. Repair and maintain complicated dies and construct new tooling.
8. Maintain inventory of production tooling in the tool-room.
9. Assist Manufacturing departments and Engineering with tool design and suggestions.
10. Implement quality improvement measures.
11. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Machine Tooling degree or certificate desired.
3. Minimum of five years of experience working with precision machining such as surface grinders, lathes, and arbor presses.
4. Proficient in basic reading, writing, and math including fractions and decimals.
5. Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery.
6. Some computer skills (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Windows-based software).
7. Strong communication skills.
8. Ability to lift/pull up to forty (40) pounds.
