Job summary

Silgan Closures is hiring a Tool & Die Maker in Evansville, IN. You will construct, repair and maintain tooling, perform preventative maintenance on presses and lining machines, and machine shafts and die set parts to tight tolerances.

Role requires tool and die experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and strong math/measurement skills. Competitive pay, weekly pay, benefits, and company pension are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED/Equivalent required; technical program certification preferred.
• Above average reasoning and troubleshooting ability.
• Tool and Die Maker experience.
• Preferred skills: Strong teamwork, strong communication, manufacturing environment background in Tool and Die capacity.

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprint, sketch, or verbal instructions.
• Apply advanced shop mathematics and use tables/charts from handbooks.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, dial indicators) to ensure proper fits.
• Layout and develop patterns for die development and tooling; assist engineering as directed.
• Overhaul machines, repair/replace worn parts, and assemble for proper operation.
