Job summary

NASG Ohio, LLC is seeking experienced Tool and Die Makers for 2nd and 3rd shifts in Portland, TN. The position offers shift premiums and a sign-on bonus of $1,000 along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, a high school diploma, and should be self-motivated, able to learn computer skills, and willing to work different shifts. Training for various operational certifications is also provided.

Position Overview

North American Stamping Group is seeking experienced Tool and Die Makers for the 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Portland, TN facility. The 2nd shift offers a 10% shift premium up to $45.65/hr, while the 3rd shift offers a 5% shift premium.

Essential Job Functions

• Work from tool room schedule to ensure tooling and equipment meet customer requirements
• Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses
• Collaborate with employees to continuously improve quality and production
• Maintain production equipment to keep production running
• Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep these areas organized
• Maintain clean work areas
• Work with outside tradesmen as required
• Available for overtime and training as required
• Suggest methods of improvement (Continuous Improvement Plan)
• Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, & improvements
• Work with Engineers to create or modify prints to reflect changes
• Perform preventive maintenance by assignment
• Willing to accept additional duties from next‑level leader

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements

Education:

• Required – High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred – Certified Toolmaker or 5 years experience in Tool and Die field
• Preferred – Apprenticeship Program completion

Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years as a Tool and Die Maker
• Self‑motivated, self‑directed, able to meet specific goals in the Tooling Department
• Willing to learn or possess computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD
• Willing to learn simple electronics for sensor program assistance

Language Skills: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Must be able to work any shift (5% shift premium for off‑shifts).

Training:

• TQPS Continuous Improvement training
• Mistake Proofing Philosophy, Forklift Certification
• Overhead Crane Certification

Work Environment / Conditions

Experience in various manufacturing environments.

Travel: Minimal.

Physical Requirements

Primary job functions involve sitting and working on a computer and in an office situation for extensive periods of time. The associate must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and be able to lift frequently 35 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 75 pounds.
