As a Tool & Die Maker at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting in die repairs and building new tools using manual machine lathes and grinders.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the construction of new dies from print to completion.
• Reproduce broken details without assistance.
• Troubleshoot all dies without assistance.
• Operate all manual machines without assistance.
• Owns moderate number of tools needed to perform necessary work.
• Ensures that all tools are returned to their proper location, trash is removed, and the floor is free of debris. Tools and equipment kept clean and in good working condition.
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• 3-5 years of experience tooling and machinery.
• TS/ISO Certification is a plus.
• Crane and Forklift Certified is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Mechanically inclined and strong math skills.
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding.
