Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Tool & Die worker in a manufacturing setting to construct, alter, and repair complex tooling. You will use lathe, milling machines, grinders, welders, and drill presses to meet precise customer specifications and read blueprints accurately.

Expect to perform routine die maintenance, troubleshoot issues, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and report unsafe conditions. Training is available; strong teamwork and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; training provided as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
  • Capable of teamwork, safety-conscious, and quality-focused.
  • Willingness to perform maintenance and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, alter, and repair complex tools, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Use toolroom equipment to ensure tooling meets customer specs.
  • Read blueprints and measure with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of dies; maintain a safe work environment.

Tool & Die

Training as needed. To include issues from quality, safety, cleanliness, teamwork and total quality management.



  • This position has the responsibility to assist fellow employees, report unsafe working conditions/equipment, and is involved with quality maintenance procedures.

  • May halt production line/maintenance work related to product/die nonconformities.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company business and products.


Job Responsibilities

Constructing, altering, and repairing highly complex custom tools, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Utilize toolroom equipment to ensure tooling meets to customer specifications. Tools including lathe, milling machine, grinders, welders, drill press. Read, interpret, and analyze blueprints. Ability to utilize measuring equipment such as tape measure, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of dies. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Education and Experience

High School Graduate or equivalent preferable.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and blueprints. Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills

Has the ability to perform advanced mathematical functions in order to manage product inventory and balance operational budgets.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.

Hours may vary somewhat and overtime can be required on weekends.
