Job Title: Tool & Die Maker at Switchcraft

Company Overview: Switchcraft is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products serve industries such as medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast, and pro audio.

Location: Chicago, IL (Jefferson Park)

Shift: First Shift, M-F 6am - 2:30pm

Pay: $36-37/hour

Responsibilities:

• Build or repair simple or progressive dies, fixtures, gauges, assembly machines, and tools.
• Troubleshoot and interpret piece part prints, die designs, and related specifications.
• Operate toolroom equipment such as surface grinders, milling machines, jig borers, optical comparators, and hand tools.
• Inspect and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, surface plates, optical comparators, microscopes, and other equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Vision acuity.
• Basic knowledge of dies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read die blueprints.
• Follow instructions from supervisors or team leaders.
• Work independently and in teams.

Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
