Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. in Tulsa, OK seeks an experienced machinist to set up and operate a range of machine shop equipment. You will work on mills, lathes, drills, presses, and related tools to manufacture and modify aluminum and steel parts per drawings.

Responsibilities include tool changes, precision measurements, and adhering to safety protocols in a hands-on environment with heavy machinery and strict tolerances. Benefits include medical, dental, and 401k with match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience required.
• Read prints and interpret machining requirements.
• Set up and operate machines and equipment listed above.
• Modify and use tooling and fixturing.
• Use all measuring devices with close tolerances (.000 to .060).
• Must use decimals and fractions in calculations.
• Understand good machining practices (feeds speeds cutters materials).
• Good hand/eye coordination.
• Check and verify that all parts meet requirements and specs.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates all machining and related equipment in the machine shop area.
• Sets up and operates horizontal and vertical mills in the machine shop area.
• Faces, turns, mills, chamfers, drills, threads, slots and bores aluminum, steel parts using the above machines.
• Change milling tools and other tools as required.
• Sets up and operates engine lathe.
• Sets up and operates a radial drill press.
• Performs drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, counterboring, chamfering and hole sawing.
• Sets up and operates single spindle drill presses.
• Drills, reams, counterbores, chamfers, and taps various parts.
• Sets up and operates a 5-ton hydraulic press to size parts.
• Sets up and operates all saws for various cuts.
• Sets up and operates a plasma cutter (with PLC usage).
• Cleans parts; surface grinding, form grinding, hold tight tolerances.
