Job summary

Ranger Die Inc. in Michigan is seeking an in-house Designer to design stamping dies, prototype tooling and die components. You will collaborate with Die Makers to see designs become finished dies, components, and parts.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in 3-D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and experience designing progressive stamping dies. This is a full-time role with benefits and opportunities to contribute across tooling and production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in 3-D CAD software; minimum 2 years' experience designing progressive stamping dies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design high quality dies that meet customer standards.
• Prepare and facilitate die review meetings with internal and external customers.
• Check prototype assemblies for formability and assembly errors.
• Examine CAD models for color codes and machinability.
• Verify Detail Drawings for clarity and dimensional accuracy.
• Communicate customer needs to tool room effectively.
• Generate bill of materials with accuracy.
• Collaborate with die makers and CNC Operators.
• Respond to inquiries and requests promptly.
• Notify Engineering Manager of problems impacting duties.

Join our in-house design team! Ranger Die is looking for an individual with experience in 3-D CAD (preferably Solidworks) software to work on various projects. This opportunity allows you to collaborate with Die Makers and see your designs become finished dies, components, and parts. The ideal candidate will have experience designing progressive dies.

Summary

The Designer is responsible for designing stamping dies, prototype tooling and die components that meet our customers' standards. They also provide technical support for our customers, tool room, production, and sales/estimating.

Essential Functions

• Design high quality dies that meet the standards our customers expect.
• Prepare and facilitate die review meetings with both internal and external customers. Take notes as required.
• Check prototype assemblies for potential formability/ assembly errors.
• Examine CAD models for proper color codes and machinability.
• Verify Detail Drawings for completeness, clarity and dimensional accuracy.
• Communicate customer needs to the tool room effectively.
• Generate bill of materials with a keen focus on accuracy.
• Collaborate with the die makers and CNC Operators as required.
• Respond timely to inquiries and requests as needed.
• Communicate timely and accurate information to the Engineering Manager, including notification of problems that would prevent the normal completion of duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education
