Tool Design and Weld Engineer
Pay Range: $70,000 - $120,000 DOE + Profit Sharing \+ Robust Benefits

How you'll spend your time as a Tool Design and Weld Engineer:
- Design, fabricate, and refine weld fixtures and production tooling.
- Develop welding processes including sequence, joint access, and parameters.
- Troubleshoot weld defects, distortion, and fit up issues with production.
- Support robotic weld cell programming, setup, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on weldability and manufacturability.
- Participate in new part introduction and PPAP validation.
- Maintain CAD models, drawings, setup instructions, and process documentation.
- Develop preventive maintenance plans for tooling and fixtures.
- Mentor tool makers and production personnel on fixture design and welding.
- Improve fixtures and processes to reduce downtime, rework, and variation.
Skills & experience we'd like you to have as a Tool Design and Weld Engineer:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
- 2+ years of experience designing and building weld fixtures or production tooling.
- Deep practical knowledge of GMAW/MIG welding processes and parameters.
- Working knowledge of weld quality, distortion, and consistency factors.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Robotic welding and automation integration experience highly preferred.
- Experience developing weld procedures, setup standards, and inspection criteria.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work on the shop floor.
- Reliable and detail oriented, with a high standard of workmanship.
Compensation:
$70,000-$120,000 per year
