Job summary

Milwaukee Valve Company in Prairie Du Sac, WI is seeking a Tool Designer on the 1st shift. This salaried exempt role is 100% on-site with regular office hours and has no option for hybrid or remote work.

You will design tooling, jigs, fixtures and gauges using CAD/CAM, SolidWorks and related Microsoft software, collaborating with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a Tool Designer to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 761.

This is a salaried exempt position on 1st shift with regular office hours and is 100% on-site with no availability to become hybrid or remote.

Summary - Designs a variety of tooling, jigs, fixtures & special gauges that are needed in manufacturing processes using CAD/CAM, Solidworks, and other Microsoft software performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

  • Studies specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Applies algebraic and geometric formulas and standard tool engineering data to develop tool configuration.
  • Selects standard items such as bushings and tool bits to incorporate into tool design.
  • Draws preliminary sketches and prepares layout and detail drawings.

Other duties may be assigned.
