Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Tool Designer to provide design and modeling support for the factory across all components, processes, and machines. You will generate designs, drawings, and procure quotes to support production needs, new product development, and continuous improvement actions.

Responsibilities include developing SolidWorks CAD models for fixtures and tools, applying GD&T, validating shop floor applications, and contributing to design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Associate or Apprentice in machining, engineering, or drafting with CAD experience.
• MS Office Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with graphical CAD software for modeling and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update SolidWorks CAD models and drawings for fixtures, tools, jigs, gages, production aides, 3D printing, etc.
• Apply GD&T best practices to ensure designs are accurate and manufacturable.
• Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
• Collaborate within a matrixed organization, communicating clearly and working independently or in a team.
• Execute routine analyses using vested methods and technologies.
• Contribute to design reviews and problem-solving discussions with innovative solutions.
• Design quality into fixtures and maintain standards.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
