Responsibilities
- Develop and design tooling solutions using NX or CATIA that meet production system requirements and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Compile and analyze technical data to determine effects on product engineering design and production rate estimates. Identify and recommend robotics, automation, and technology solutions for tooling and equipment integration.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements throughout the tooling lifecycle.
- Validate contractual performance milestones and maintain configuration control of tooling and equipment.
- Conduct reviews and prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spare parts management.
- Provide training for production and maintenance personnel on tooling operation and maintenance.
- Develop work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware, software, and documentation related to tooling. Perform studies and make recommendations for the disposition of tooling assets.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors or 3+ years with a Masters, or work-related experience with a PhD.
Preferred:
- NX design experience
- 3D modeling experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, standard.
