Job summary

O'Fallon Casting, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to analyze drawings and build tooling for aerospace investment casting. You will perform 3D solid modeling, fixture design, and collaborate with tool makers and vendors to ensure compliant, high-quality tooling.

Required is a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and a solid GD&T understanding. The role emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal.
• 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience in SolidWorks or other CAD software is required.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Strong communication skills.
• Candidate should be respectful and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and solid models of aerospace parts to determine the tooling required to produce patterns for investment casting.
• Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production.
• 3D solid modeling and surface modeling.
• Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
• Develop methods to improve manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with internal tool makers and external vendors on tool designs and modifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications as needed to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
