Job summary

O'Fallon Casting seeks a Mechanical Engineer specializing in tooling and fixture design for aerospace investment casting. The role focuses on designing fixtures, performing 3D modeling, and collaborating across teams to ensure products meet customer requirements.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience preferred; strong CAD/writing skills and a solid understanding of GD&T are essential. This on-site position offers a comprehensive benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equal.
• 5-years of experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Solidworks or other CAD software is required.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of GD&T
• Candidate should be respectful and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and solid models of aerospace parts to determine the tooling required to produce patterns for investment casting.
• Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production.
• 3D solid modeling and surface modeling.
• Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
• Develop methods to improve manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with internal tool makers and external vendors on tool designs and modifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications as needed to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
