Job description

Your Impactful Responsibilities:

As a Tool Crib Custodian/Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by managing tools, equipment, and supplies.

  • Organizing and maintaining the tool crib to ensure accessibility and proper storage of tools and equipment.
  • Issuing, tracking, and receiving tools and materials for employees and contractors.
  • Performing regular inventory checks and updating records to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are inspected, cleaned, repaired, and properly stored after use.
  • Reordering supplies and tools when stock levels are low to avoid disruptions.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to understand their tool and equipment needs.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe tool crib environment in compliance with company safety policies.

Our basic requirements: The department requires PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), plus Safety shoes and safety glasses must be worn on the production floor.

  • Work is performed in a Manufacturing Environment, where prolonged period(s) of standing is required for duration of shift.
  • Requires ability to reach overhead, pull, push, bend, squat, and climb a ladder to perform work.
  • Ability to lift 26 pounds occasionally or 22 pounds independently and repetitively.

Who will you report to?

This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will work closely with the Maintenance team, Operations team, and external contractors, ensuring that all tool and equipment needs are met efficiently. This is a individual contributor role but will require consistent collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Key Qualifications for Thriving in This Role:

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in tool crib management, inventory control, or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and maintenance processes used in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software or Excel.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities.
