Job summary

Nokian Tyres is seeking a detail-oriented inventory clerk to manage stock using Maximo in our Dayton, TN facility. You will verify stock levels, process replenishments, and ensure accurate record-keeping for audits and production needs.

The role requires forklift operation, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, with an Associate’s degree preferred and prior CMMS experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS system, preferably Maximo, is a plus.
  • Prior inventory management or inventory control experience preferred.
  • Lean/process improvement tools experience or interest is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory in Maximo to ensure adequate supply.
  • Check stock and enter replenishment requests.
  • Ensure items are received and stored properly in the stock room.
  • Track items distributed to employees and maintain records.
  • Monitor Min/Max levels and adjust as needed.
  • Communicate hot items to Purchasing and expedite as required.
  • Keep the Stock Room organized and clean.
  • Assist users with crib software as needed.
  • Participate in cycle counts and inventory counts.

Job description

General Duties & Functions
  • Maintains an inventory of all items using Maximo, to ensure adequate supply
  • Checks stock, enters replenishment requests as needed
  • Ensures all consumables and/or products are systematically received and placed in allocated area in the Stock Room in a timely fashion
  • Assures all items checked out of inventory are assigned to a work order
  • Tracks items distributed to employees and maintain records
  • Monitors Min / Max levels of inventory and adjust as required
  • Communicates hot items and expedites to Purchasing as required
  • Keeps the Stock Room organized and clean at all times
  • Assists individuals using the crib software as needed / requested
  • Notifies supervisor of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
  • Participates in cycle counts and inventory counts as required
  • All other duties assigned
Skills/Qualifications
  • Must possess good communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Basic working knowledge of computer software and MS office
  • Experience with operating fork lift
  • Ability to operate with speed and accuracy
  • Demonstrates team spirit, shows flexibility and positive attitude as an active team contributor
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills, is able to recognize and appropriately elevate issues when situations arise

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited community, technical or vocational college preferred
  • Previous experience with CMMS system, preferably Maximo
  • Previous experience in inventory management or inventory control preferred
  • Lean / process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area
Physical Requirements and Demands
  • Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated production areas, which may include safety-toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as defined by risk assessments and site policies.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Ability to frequently move throughout production areas, including ascending and descending stairs, ladders, and work platforms.
  • Ability to occasionally kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and work in confined or awkward positions.
  • Ability to frequently use both dominant and non-dominant hands for operating tools, handling materials, manipulating machine controls, and performing technical tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials and equipment up to 35 pounds and, less frequently, up to 65 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to occasionally push or pull wheeled carts, equipment, or components requiring moderate force.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, materials, gauges, and finished products to identify defects, malfunctions, hazards, or deviations, and to recognize safety signals, alarms, and changing conditions in the work environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to effectively receive, understand, and communicate technical instructions, safety information, and operational updates through appropriate means, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
  • This position is primarily based in an active manufacturing environment and requires routine presence on the production floor.
  • Employees are regularly exposed to noise, vibration, moving machinery, powered industrial vehicles, and other industrial hazards.
  • Temperatures may vary seasonally and may range from approximately 65–100°F depending on the area of the facility.
  • Raw materials used in the manufacturing process may include oils, carbon black, rubber compounds, sulfur, and other additives. Employees may encounter industrial odors, airborne particulates, or dust consistent with manufacturing operations.
  • Work may occasionally involve exposure to elevated work areas, energized equipment, and maintenance activities requiring adherence to safety procedures.
