Job summary

McCormick Stevenson, a subsidiary of Paligen Technologies, seeks a Tool and Gage Designer to serve as a technical specialist in tool and gage design in Clearwater, FL (Hybrid). The Designer will make decisions on design and proposal development, maintain technical communications with the client, and coordinate with management and SMEs to ensure standard practices across the organization.

The role requires advanced GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5/43/100), 3D CAD proficiency, and the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tool and gage design.
• Advanced understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Advanced understanding of ASME Y14.43 Gage and Fixture Dimension & Tolerancing Principles.
• Advanced understanding of ASME Y14.100 and associated drafting specifications.
• 3D CAD proficiency.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Familiarity with machine tool operation, i.e. mill, lathe, surface grinder, EDM.
• Familiarity with mechanical inspection, CMM, and open setup.
• Understanding of DoD design process and project structure.
• Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
• MS Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel proficiency.
• Ability to obtain a Secret DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review sketches/layouts.
• Provide complete design and drawing packages for custom tooling and production gages.
• Create and check drawings for correctness and compliance with ASME Y14.5
• Provide guidance to technical staff & customers in the development of technical documentation to applicable industry standards.
• Proactively work with internal and external teammates to ensure the technical compliance of designs and all internal and customer design requirements are satisfied.
• Maintain knowledge on related industry best practices and technological advancements.
• Other duties as assigned.

McCormick Stevenson, subsidiary of Paligen Technologies, is seeking an experienced Designer to serve as a technical specialist in tool and gage design. The Designer will: Make decisions and recommendations on extensive design and proposal development activities, establish and maintain open and frequent technical communications with the client, coordinate and collaborate with management and Subject Matter Experts to ensure common practices across the entire organization, and promote professionalism throughout the work force.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or review sketches/layouts.

Other Requirements:

• Travel: Up to 10% of total time to support customer locations.
• Work Environment: Office work environment
• Background Investigation/Drug Screen/US Person: Required
