Job description

Tool and Die Technician III

1st Shift (7AM-3PM)

$40.65/hr

Who we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a Tool and Die Tech based in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary responsibilities will include assembling, disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining extrusion dies used for PVC pipe manufacturing. You should ensure all tooling is in good condition and be capable of operating power equipment and tools.

What you'll do:
  1. Perform work safely, adhering to all safety rules and best practices.
  2. Assemble extrusion die heads for changeovers, wire heater bands, and verify proper operation of die zones.
  3. Remove die heads from extruders, disassemble for inspection and cleaning.
  4. Hang die heads, tighten bolts to torque specifications, connect wiring, and verify functionality.
  5. Conduct changeovers on pullers, saws, and bellers, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed.
  6. Monitor bell tooling condition, coordinate repairs, and minimize production interruptions.
  7. Organize and maintain the die shop, managing parts and supplies.
  8. Maintain inventory of die parts and supplies, communicate needs to maintenance leadership.
  9. Attend training, wear safety equipment, operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, and hand tools.
What you'll bring:
  1. 5-7 years of Tool and Die experience.
  2. Experience with 480V electrical systems.
  3. Strong leadership, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  5. Adaptability to changing priorities, safety compliance, and self-supplied tools.
  6. Experience with machinery installation and repair, basic math skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
  7. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting pay is estimated at $36.31/hr, depending on various factors. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and more.
