Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented New Build Tool and Die Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing and assembling high-precision dies required for the production of new products. This role involves interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, working with various metals, and utilizing advanced machinery and tools to create custom tooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Fabrication: Develop and create new tools/dies based on engineering specifications and blueprints. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist in design and modification processes.
  • Machining and Assembly: Operate a range of machining equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinders, to fabricate precise components. Assemble and test tooling to ensure functionality and quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify and resolve issues related to tooling performance, including adjusting and fine-tuning components to achieve optimal results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that tooling designs meet production requirements and project timelines.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks on all tooling to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance. Provide detailed reports on progress, issues, and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker, with a focus on new build projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/SolidWorks software.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and the ability to operate various machining equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications in tool and die making are preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and tools.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including noisy environments.

Hours and Salary:
