• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot tooling performance and part quality.
• Maintain and repair production tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tooling design.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling performance and part quality.
• Maintain and repair existing production tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong mathematical aptitude, including trigonometry and geometry
• Experience with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Ability to operate manual and CNC machining equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
• Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Experience with precision measurement tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints, including GD&T
