Job description

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment? We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will play a key role in producing high-quality tooling components using a variety of machine tools. This position is essential in supporting our production operations and maintaining our reputation for precision and excellence. Our team values safety, quality, and teamwork.

As a Tool and Die Maker, you will interpret basic work instructions and safely operate grinders, lathes, and mills to produce tooling components such as forming tools and dies. You will also perform in-process inspection duties using precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers. This role requires a strong foundation in shop math, print reading, and mechanical aptitude, making it an excellent opportunity for those with 1-2 years of experience who are eager to develop further in the trade. You will compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine the most efficient assembly methods and sequences of operations under supervision. Your responsibilities will include measuring, marking, and scribing metal stock for machining, as well as setting up and operating a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, EDMs, and grinders. Ensuring that machined parts conform to specifications through careful verification of dimensions, alignments, and clearances will be a significant aspect of your work. In this role, you will be expected to lift machined parts, position and secure them on work tables or surface plates, and contribute to maintaining a safe workspace by adhering to all functional safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and safe equipment interaction. You will also be responsible for following established quality processes and completing in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. Interpreting work orders correctly and working collaboratively within a team environment are essential skills for success in this position.

The ideal Tool and Die Maker will have the ability to read and write English, a basic understanding of print reading and inspection processes, and a foundational knowledge of wire material, coatings, and product design and performance. Basic troubleshooting abilities are also important. While a GED or high school diploma is preferred, it is not required for this role.
