Job summary

BY Recruiting is assisting a Denver-area manufacturer of precision metal components in hiring Tool and Die Makers for first shift. You will build, repair, and maintain stamping dies and production tooling, reading blueprints and CAD models, and collaborating with operations, maintenance and engineering.

You will operate manual and CNC lathes, mills and grinders, inspect parts with precision tools, and participate in preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and technical training or apprenticeship.
• Journeyman status or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience building or repairing dies and production tooling; stamping and metal forming a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures and production tooling.
• Disassemble, repair, reassemble and test tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and CAD models.
• Run manual and CNC lathes, mills and grinders.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot production tooling with operations, maintenance and engineering.
• Build and modify spare parts.
• Keep up preventive maintenance and document repair history.
• Follow safe work practices and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job description

Our client is an established, growing manufacturer of precision metal components in the Denver area. The toolroom team keeps production running and plays a direct role in new product launches and process improvements.

About the Role

We are hiring Tool and Die Makers at all experience levels for first shift. You will build, repair and maintain stamping dies and production tooling, working closely with operations, maintenance and engineering. Pay and responsibilities are matched to experience, so developing toolmakers and seasoned journeymen are both encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Build, repair and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures and production tooling.
• Disassemble, repair, reassemble and test tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and CAD models.
• Run manual and CNC lathes, mills and grinders.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot production tooling with operations, maintenance and engineering.

For Experienced Toolmakers

• Lead complex tooling projects from design through completion.
• Reverse engineer dies and components when drawings are not available.
• Help write work instructions and train newer toolmakers.

What You Bring (Required)

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical school training, a completed apprenticeship or a Journeyman card.
• Hands-on experience building or repairing dies and production tooling; stamping and metal forming experience is a strong plus.
• Comfortable on a production floor: standing and walking, lifting up to 65 lbs, noise and vibration.

Nice to Have

• CAM programming experience.
• Experience logging work in a maintenance management system.
• Microsoft Office.
