Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Tool and Die Makers for projects located in or around Bellwood, IL. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate starts at $35/hour based on experience and skill level.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Tool & Die Maker.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex die sets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair die sets.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain repair findings, reports, and other technical documentation.
• Heat treat tools and components as required.
• Measure marks and scribes for metal stock machining operations.
• Smooth flat and contoured surfaces using scrapers and grinders.
• Fit and assemble parts and mechanisms using hand tools.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances with precision equipment.
• Maintain tooling to maximize production efficiency and quality.
• Support manufacturing operations to ensure tooling and dies operate properly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Job Scope:

• Inspect, measure, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair common and complex die sets
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain repair findings, reports, and other technical documentation
• Heat treat tools and components as required
• Measure marks and scribes for metal stock machining operations
• Smooth flat and contoured surfaces using scrapers, abrasive stones, and power grinders
• Fit and assemble parts, assemblies, and mechanisms using hand tools
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain tooling to maximize production efficiency and quality
• Support manufacturing operations by ensuring tooling and dies are operating properly
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements:

• Previous Tool & Die Maker experience
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex die sets
• Experience fitting and assembling tooling components
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining production standards
