LARGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN CLOSTER NJ IS LOOKING FOR A STRONG TOOL & DIE MAKER. LOOKING FOR A STRONG CANDIDATE WITH AT LEAST 3-5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.

DAY SHIFT ROLE 630AM-3PM

PAYS UP TO $40 HOURLY

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Tool & Die Maker

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain company compliance with all appropriate OSHA and state safety regulations and maintain appropriate reporting and accountability systems.
  2. Use sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan operations for the fabrication of dies, tools, and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximum efficiency.
  3. Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, and micrometers.
  4. Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and dies and to repair and modify gauges, jigs, and dies.
  5. Design templates and jigs to be used as work aids for convenient fabrication of products and parts.
  6. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools, manually operated dies, and progressive dies.
  7. Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process.
  8. File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and that they fit together properly.
  9. Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Problem-Solving – potential problems before they happen and troubleshoot tools and equipment daily.
  2. Communication – give written and verbal reports frequently.
  3. Mathematical ability – working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
  4. Teamwork – work with engineers, mechanics, operators, and machinists.
  5. Autonomy – work independently with little supervision to complete their daily tasks.
  6. Metallurgic basic work knowledge with a vast variety of metals properties.
  7. Experience – 3 to 5 years of experience in tool and die making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Completion of apprenticeship program or trade school diploma program.
  2. Five plus years of experience in tool and die making.
  3. Experience using CAD.
  4. Bilingual- Spanish.
