Job summary

We are seeking a Development Associate Director (AD) for the Tomahawk program to lead multiple capability enhancements and obsolescence redesigns from inception through transition to production. Reporting to the Tomahawk Development Director, the AD will oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance across complex efforts while managing several direct reports. Will You Will Do:
  • Strengthen customer relationships and represent Raytheon with credibility and confidence.
  • Lead and develop high-performing IPT leads and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive excellence to meet technical, schedule, and financial commitments.
  • Maintain accountability for profit and loss, AOP, and program financial metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative culture while advancing continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Communicate program goals, decisions, and results effectively to teams, customers, and senior leadership.
  • Accountability for profit and loss, AOP and financial metrics for the program.
  • Leading a clear program execution methodology that provides clarity and visibility into execution status.
  • Driving the expectation of maintaining a positive team dynamic and the development of leaders within the development team.
  • Managing priority decisions that balance risk, execution deadlines and profitability.
  • Collaborating with the Production and Recertification Program Managers on missile level builds.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Tomahawk Development Team customer counterparts.
  • Supporting proposal activities for follow-on work and establishing investment strategies.
  • Position requires some domestic travel.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience, or
  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Prior experience in leading profit and loss of DoD contracts as a program manager or recent functional leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in managing, tracking, and reporting metrics and progress through EAC reviews and periodic management reviews with internal and customer leadership
  • Prior experience with engineering processes
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Program/Project Management Level 4 or equivalent (or ability to obtain certification within a year)
  • Experience with EACs and proficiency with tools used for Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality
  • Extensive experience dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Prior experience on weapons development programs
  • Strong proficiency in partnering with matrixed organizations
  • Proven track record of customer relationship building
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management
  • Proven experience solving challenging technical problems in a development environment
  • Experience with Transition to Production and coordinating with cross functional engineering disciplines
  • Ability to thrive in an innovative environment to maximize profitability by identifying best practices in program execution
  • Ensure customer performance feedback and actions/requests are responded to in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner
  • Working knowledge of metrics and demonstrated ability to forecast and manage financials
  • Leadership experience using Lean/Agile methods to enable the development of capabilities in an iterative fashion, while conforming to traditional requirements and systems development milestones
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and team members with varying backgrounds and experience dealing with challenging situations

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
