Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is hiring for a Public Safety role dedicated to Guest First service. You will stand watch at fixed posts to validate guest parking, communicate with guests and staff, and ensure a friendly, professional park environment.

Responsibilities include training, maintaining appearance standards, and operating scanning and POS devices outdoors in all weather. A reliable mode of transportation is required, with weekend and holiday availability expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk up to 6–8 hours a day.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; outgoing and friendly.
• Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Comfortable using phone and portable radio.
• Able to work in outdoor conditions (sun, heat, cold, humidity).
• Reliable transportation to the Park.
• Flexible to changes in daily position and weekend/holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Public Safety Department, you are part of the Guest First concept. You need to understand the expectations of the Guests who visit our Park. They expect you to be friendly, visible, knowledgeable, and service oriented . At Tolls you will be working fixed posts designed to validate guest parking.

Overview: As a member of the Public Safety Department, you are part of the Guest First concept. You need to understand the expectations of the Guests who visit our Park. They expect you to be friendly, visible, knowledgeable, and service oriented . At Tolls you will be working fixed posts designed to validate guest parking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consistent attendance and adherence to the posted schedule is a job requirement.
• Attend required Human Resources training, Security department training, and Security in-service training.
• Maintain Park / Security Departments grooming and appearance standards in accordance with policies.
• Interact with guests, team members, and Park management on a daily basis.
• Work with a diverse team and cooperate with all team members and Park management.
• Communicate effectively with guests, team members and Park management – in person, by phone, and by portable radio.
• Conduct all interactions with a professional, proactive, and friendly attitude.
• Work fixed positions designed to validate entry to the guest parking lot:
  • Operate hand-held electronic device to scan passes for parking.
  • Operate touch-screen point of sale (POS) system for credit/debit card transactions.
• Assist with cleaning as needed or directed.
• Complete Six Flags Security certification tests.
• Maintain all job duties and responsibilities in outdoor weather conditions - regularly exposed to direct sunlight, wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat for extended periods of time.
• Maintain all job duties and responsibilities independently with minimal direct supervision.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 16 years of age or older.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk up to 6 hours at a time and as many as 8 hours a day.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. - Outgoing and friendly personality

• Must be comfortable using and communicating via phone and portable radio.
• Must be comfortable using a touch-screen register and hand-held validation device.
• Job positions include working in confined space.
• Must be capable of working in outdoor weather conditions - regularly exposed to direct sunlight, wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat for extended periods of time.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Park.
• Must be flexible to change as job position may change daily.
• Flexible work schedule includes working weekends, and during holidays between Memorial Day to Labor Day.
• Must possess strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, and be able to handle moderate levels of stress.
