Job summary

Silgan Closures GmbH in Tolleson, AZ is hiring a Safety and Training Coordinator to lead training programs and drive workplace safety. You will conduct audits, support environmental compliance, and partner with operations to promote a safe, compliant facility.

The role involves coordinating online and in-person training, maintaining records, and leading the safety committee while supporting sustainability initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or workplace safety is required.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement effective employee training programs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor employee training and workplace safety programs.
• Coordinate online and in-person training and assist with onboarding.
• Conduct safety audits and workplace inspections to identify hazards and support compliance.
• Track and report safety incidents, lead incident investigations, and assist with corrective actions.
• Maintain injury logs, safety reports, training records, accident documentation, and other compliance records.
• Lead the facility safety committee and promote employee safety awareness.
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Assist with environmental programs involving waste management, recycling, energy efficiency, and pollution prevention.
• Monitor sustainability metrics, including water usage, energy consumption, waste reduction, and emissions.
• Support environmental audits, inspections, sustainability initiatives, and reporting.
• Partner with operations, HR, facilities, and other teams to support EHS, workplace safety, training, and environmental compliance.
