Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. The PTC operates a 565-mile system with over 205 million transactions annually. Together, we are building the highway of the future.
Help ensure the systems behind every toll transaction perform exactly as they should.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is looking for a Toll Systems Specialist with a strong Quality Assurance focus to support the technology that keeps our tolling operations moving. This position sits at the intersection of technology, data, operations, and quality. You’ll work throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) — reviewing requirements, developing and executing testing strategies, validating system functionality, analyzing transaction and performance data, investigating defects, and helping ensure new or enhanced tolling systems are ready for real-world operation.
If you have a sharp eye for detail, enjoy digging into complex systems, and are the type of person who wants to know why something happened — not just that it happened — this role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on a large-scale, mission-critical tolling environment. Our tolling environment combines software, databases, transaction processing, system interfaces, hardware, field equipment, vendors, and live operations. You'll have the opportunity to follow a system or enhancement from requirements through implementation and see firsthand how your testing and analysis translate into operational performance. You'll also be working beyond simple pass/fail testing. The QA-focused version of this role emphasizes requirements traceability, defect management, corrective-action validation, quality metrics, continuous improvement, and formal system acceptance.
Tolling is a live operational environment, this role may also participate in after-hours or on-call support for significant toll system events and investigations.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of analytical thinking, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
