Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading Company in Toledo, OH is seeking a General Laborer to support scrap metal processing. You will operate a range of mobile equipment, load and unload materials, and help sort metals while maintaining safety and cleanliness on site.

The role requires basic reading/writing and math, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and good communication. Prior equipment experience is preferred, and pre-employment screening applies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and wear PPE.
• Load and unload materials using mobile equipment or by hand.
• Sort recycled materials and remove non-conforming metals.
• Operate and maintain mobile equipment (forklifts, skid steers, etc.).
• Perform tasks with physical labor using hand tools and power tools.
• Identify scrap by grade and material type.
• Remove fluids from incoming materials as required.
• Assist with maintenance and housekeeping of plant equipment.
• Direct or assist customers or drivers as needed.
• Perform other general laborer tasks as required.
