The Kensington School is an early childhood school that provides all day care and education for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years, as well as before and after school and summer programs for children up to 5th grade.

Teacher Qualifications:

  1. Ability to relate positively with young children.
  2. Prepare and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children in the classroom.
  3. Light lesson planning with support and supervision from the Director.
  4. Provide developmentally appropriate activities for children ages 6 months-5 years.
  5. Must meet basic requirements of child care regulatory agency to maintain a safe environment for children.
  6. Previous teaching or assistant teaching position with a public or private school system, a quality preschool, child care center, or church nursery is preferred.
  7. Knowledge about the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children based on education, past work experience, or as a parent or caretaker of a child.
  8. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in order to facilitate activities with children and ensure child safety in emergency situations.

The Pre-K, Infant, and Toddler Teacher positions might be an excellent fit for individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including individuals currently enrolled in college or graduate school who are interested in a long-term career in childcare or education, or individuals with experience in childcare who are looking to work in an environment that provides training and support to employees, ongoing professional development, and a positive work environment.
