Job summary

Brella in Pasadena is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, loving environment for our youngest learners. You will work with a co-teacher to implement play-based curriculum, plan daily activities, document progress, and adapt the day to each child's needs.

This role emphasizes empathy, teamwork, and responsive teaching. You will collaborate with families during drop-off/pick-up, follow licensing standards, and support growth through observation and individualized guidance.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma and 12 ECE units including 3 units in infant care.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a licensed child care facility.
• Must meet California DSS Licensing requirements.

This center is open Monday-Friday and shifts typically run between 7:45 AM - 6:15 PM.

About The Role

Our Infant/Toddler Teacher role is an opportunity to focus on a specific age range while diving deeper into our play-based curriculum, planning, flow of day, documentation and communicating effectively with the team, children and parents.

As a Brella Infant/Toddler Teacher, You Will

• Provide a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with co-teachers
• Model empathy through respect, response, and gentle guidance
• Engage as children work with age-appropriate, stimulating, and thoughtful materials
• Plan and implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests and demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved
• Keep the classroom safe by following procedures and guidelines
• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture
• Communicate effectively with families during drop off/pick ups and provide curriculum and development updates

Experience, Knowledge & Abilities

• At least 18+ years of age with a High School Diploma and 12 Early Childhood Education units including 3 units specific to infant care (Required by Licensing)
• At least 12+ months of experience working in a licensed child care facility
• Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services / Licensing

Physical Demands

• Move comfortably throughout the classroom and center, including lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Safely interact with and physically support children ages 3 months to 6 years using appropriate child-handling techniques
• Lift children or classroom materials up to 50 pounds, as needed
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness needed to supervise children and respond to daily classroom needs
• Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations, safety concerns, or emergencies
• Follow all state, federal, and Brella guidelines related to immunizations, employment physicals, required health and safety training, and safe classroom practices
