The Goddard School Cary Lochmere in Cary, NC is seeking a passionate Toddler Teacher for our One-Year-Old classroom.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in early childhood education, excellent communication with families, and the ability to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early learning setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching partner and school leadership.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid NC Qualifying Letter.
• Must meet all North Carolina childcare licensing and training requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences using Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom for toddlers.
• Support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
• Foster independence and positive peer interactions.
• Observe, assess, and document children's growth and milestones.
• Maintain positive communication with families about progress and daily experiences.
• Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior and emotion regulation.
• Collaborate with teaching partners, administration, and staff to provide high-quality education.
• Supervise children during activities while ensuring safety and licensing compliance.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture among faculty and staff.
