Job summary

The Goddard School Cary Lochmere is seeking an Infant Teacher to nurture and guide young learners on a developmentally appropriate path. You will implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum, maintain a safe, inclusive classroom, and collaborate with a caring team in a supportive culture.

Compensation is based on education and experience, with opportunities for professional development and growth within a stable, teacher-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
• CDA credential preferred.
• Previous experience with toddlers or young children in licensed settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication with children, families and colleagues.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be eligible to obtain NC Qualifying Letter and meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom for toddlers.
• Support social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
• Foster independence by encouraging self-help skills and positive peer interactions.
• Observe, assess, and document children's growth and milestones.
• Maintain positive communication with families regarding progress and daily experiences.
• Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teaching partners, administration, and staff to provide high-quality education.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while complying with health and licensing requirements.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
